The Council Chamber, a bold statement of elegance and history…
A truly impressive room, The Council Chamber boasts integrity and charm. The most prominent feature is the glorious painted domed ceiling showcasing a classical depiction of the twelve months of the year, commissioned by artist Charles Baskett. The vibrancy of the two stained glass windows portraying the Roman history of the Borough are also what make this room quite special.
It is the perfect environment if you need to get out of the office into some new and interesting surroundings. The room can inspire staff to share ideas and debate using the conference microphones attached to each bench, and it can be an impressive space to share equally impressive company results.
The suite has a unique layout which also makes it ideal for presentations or seminars. The furniture is fixed in a horse shoe shape with enough space to place a small table in the centre of the room. Wi-Fi access is also available as well as an induction loop.
The Chamber is situated on the first floor of the Town Hall and can be accessed via the first marble staircase. Alternatively there is a lift which stops at the end of this floor.
There are male and female toilets, as well as a disabled toilet.
Events, away days, team building.
