Getting to the Recreation Ground

The car park on Port Lane has 40 parking spaces…

…and is open 24 hrs a day. To accommodate the school runs, to avoid congestion closer to the school and to encourage some walking to school there is 1hour free parking between 08.00 & 09.30. Payment by pay and display machine only.

The venue is fully accessible and suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.

Directions

By car: Exit the A12 at Junction 29 and follow signs for Colchester. Continue along Ipswich Road to the Waitrose roundabouts and then turn left onto A133 St Andrew’s Avenue. Join the A134 at Greenstead roundabout and follow this to Hythe Hill where Port Lane will be on your left. The entrance and parking is 400m on your right. There is also a Park and Ride from the A12 at junction 28 to the Town Centre

By Train: Passengers should alight at Colchester Town Station and catch a bus at the nearby Osbourne Street Bus Station.

By Bus: Colchester Bus Station is located on Osbourne Street in the Town Centre and runs regular services locally and regionally. Bus routes 61, 66 & 66A run by The Recreation Ground.

By Air: Stansted Airport is just 50 minutes away from Colchester by road via the A12 and A120, and there are regular Coach transfer services available between Marks Tey Train Station and Stansted Airport.
